ABOUT PIANOS: The
piano was invented in Italy by Bartolommeo Cristofori in 1709. It differed from the
harpsichord in that it allowed expression at the artist's fingertips. Cristofori
named it "gravicembalo col piano e forte", which means harpsichord with soft and
loud. The name was later shortened to pianoforte. An acoustic piano has four basic components
that create its tone; hammer, string, bridge and soundboard. The hammer
strikes the string generating a vibration that travels the string to the bridge. The
bridge transfers the vibration to the soundboard where it is amplified. Each
component's material choice is made based on its ability to accomplish these functions.
The voice of an acoustic piano can vary from bright to warm, full to thin, clear to muddy.
So much to learn and so little time
to learn it. Come to one of our free seminars every Saturday at 10:30 AM. Call

ABOUT OUR PIANOS: New acoustic pianos have a 5 year full trade up. Used acoustic
pianos have a one year full trade up. As a musician becomes more skilled they may need a
nicer instrument. Even pianos not purchased from us have a trade up value. Remember
acoustic pianos have a life expectancy of 40 to 60 years. We offer new pianos from Korea,
Germany, and Indonesia. Carefully chosen simply because they are the best value at
specific quality levels. Piano dealership agreements are such that we may not
include brand names of our new inventory on the internet. Call us directly or email us for
